Myrtle Beach & the Web
Seems that recently even some of the larger travel companies (that already have heavy brand recognition) are going after generic, local travel terms... Orbitz recently registered at least one Myrtle Beach domain name...

Myrtle Beach Council Angers Bikers... Who's Next?

In the current state of the economy, with most people struggling to adapt to the higher cost of living, decreased income and/or benefits, Myrtle Beach Council sent a clear message to bikers saying enough is enough by putting several new ordinances in place that angered bikers, hotel operators, and service businesses who cater to motorcyle rally attendees. With lawsuits pending and dismal turnouts at both recent May and Fall bike events, what happens next remains to be seen.

Did the political debates in Myrtle Beach produce any measurable benefits?

Two Debates, One Town Did the fact that two presidential debates were in our town have an effect on the bottom lines of local businesses? Did it impact local families in a positive way? Will it in the months and years to come?

We've read a lot of local press about how the free broadcast media exposure is valued at untold millions of dollars. But for who?

Does the fact that this area had a few moments in the national media help our children in the Horry county school system? Does it help, in any way, the critical air and water pollution that thrust county residents into the top 10% of all counties in the USA for cancer risk?

Around Town

Myrtle Beach restaurant frozen drink photo
In the 1980s, one of the locals' favorite places to relax and have fun was Dock Holidays Restaurant at Vereen's Marina.

After Dock Holidays closed, a series of restaurants opened and closed, the most recent being Pete's Landing.

We have to wonder why businesses at this location keep failing. The location on the Intracoastal Waterway at Vereen's Marina in North Myrtle Beach is one of the most beautiful dining settings in the entire county.
